Hidden inside the rainforest is one of the Costa Rica’s best kept secret. Rio Celeste translates to Light Blue River in Spanish – the name given because of its intense blue colour. This ‘fairy tale’ place is located in Tenorio Volcano National Park. Rio Celeste Waterfall is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world! As you hike through the park you get to the point where all the magic happens and two clear-water streams create Rio Celeste. This enchanting river will hypnotise you and leave you speechless. Visiting Rio Celeste gives a new meaning to ‘Pura Vida’.
Choosing the right hostel when travelling can be quite challenging. Even though you can get all the information online and see the pictures, in reality it’s not always the case of ‘what you see is what you get’. For this reason, I’ve decided to start reviewing places I’m staying at during my travels, so that I can give an honest opinion of the accommodation and in that way help others make easier decision on where to stay. My first review is La Choza Inn Hostel in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is a nature and wildlife paradise. It offers picturesque views and breath-taking experiences. With so many places to visit here, La Fortuna should be on top of your list. Don’t waste your time in the capital. Since, San José is very westernised, you will only find lots of McDonalds, Starbucks as well as other popular fast food chains on every corner. Get the real taste of Costa Rica and head straight to La Fortuna. This small town surrounded by incredible nature will win your heart! Furthermore, it’s one of the most popular places visited among tourists and there’s a reason for it! There are plenty of things to do in La Fortuna, that will make your stay a great adventure.
SJO airport is not actually located in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, as many might think so, but in a city right next to it, called Alajuela. About 20km from downtown San Jose, the journey takes approximately 35 minutes. It’s simple and easy to get from SJO to San Jose by various means of transport. You have as many as five different options. Bus from SJO to San Jose is your cheapest option. However, depending on your circumstances you might want to choose one that suits you most.
